YARAKA PARK

Public BBQ

Well off the main routes, and more than worth the detour for an overnight stay. For a nominal nightly fee you get a concrete slab with power and water, clean toilets, hot showers, a dump point, and access to a swimming pool and tennis court, with stays of up to a week permitted. It sits behind the pub, where the food is excellent, the Friday night pizza has a following and the hospitality is the sort that makes people stay longer than planned. A sunset tour runs, a camp draft is held here, and a resident emu brings his chicks through each morning. One of those outback stops that people name their caravans after.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
