WOOMBYE CWA PARK

Public BBQ

What strikes you first about Woombye CWA Park isn't the modest playground with its flying fox and miniature truck setup, but the unexpected tranquility that settles over the place. There's something almost magical about how the camphor laurel trees catch every breeze, creating this gentle, cooling draft that makes even the warmest Queensland afternoon feel pleasant. The park has that unpretentious charm typical of country CWA grounds - nothing flashy, just solid picnic facilities and well-maintained green spaces. The playground keeps the kids entertained with swings and climbing equipment, while parents can actually relax knowing the whole area has a safe, enclosed feeling. The toilets are serviceable, though a bit dim inside despite the bright sunshine outside. What sets this place apart is its remarkable peacefulness. Visitors consistently mention the calming atmosphere - it's the sort of spot where you arrive planning a quick lunch stop and find yourself lingering with a book, reluctant to break the spell of that cooling breeze and natural quiet.
