WILLOWDALE PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away in Piara Waters, Willowdale Park offers families a proper BBQ area where the undercover picnic tables provide blessed relief from the Western Australian sun. The kids can burn off energy on the playground equipment while parents fire up the barbecue, and there's something wonderfully optimistic about the basketball courts nearby - as if the designers believed every Australian family travels with a basketball in the boot. It's the sort of place where you'll find yourself genuinely grateful for the shade and wondering why more parks don't think to combine decent shelter with decent facilities. Pack the esky, grab that basketball if you're feeling ambitious, and settle in for a proper family afternoon.
