WILGA PARK

Public BBQ

Wilga Park sits like a green oasis amid Macquarie Park's relentless apartment towers, offering respite for locals willing to overlook its urban growing pains. The recently renovated space features electric barbecues and shaded areas perfect for weekend gatherings, though weekday visits come with construction site serenades. Wildlife persists despite the concrete creep - native stingless bees have claimed a tree hollow, creating an unexpectedly magical encounter. The grassed amphitheatre provides natural seating, while Shrimpton's Creek cycleway offers car-free access for those savvy enough to avoid the parking lottery.
