WESTON PLACE PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Muirfield Crescent, Weston Place Park proves that sometimes the best barbecue spots are hiding in plain sight. The undercover picnic tables provide blessed relief from Queensland's unpredictable weather - a godsend when you're halfway through grilling the snags and the afternoon storm clouds roll in. What sets this place apart is the thoughtful layout: parents can keep one eye on their sizzling barbecue and the other on the kids tearing about the playground. It's the sort of practical setup that makes you wonder why more parks don't get it right. The covered areas mean you're not at the mercy of the elements, and there's something rather civilised about enjoying your meal in the shade while the children burn off their energy nearby. A reliable neighbourhood gem.
