WEIPA AQUATIC CENTRE

Public BBQ

The Weipa Aquatic Centre proves that sometimes the best discoveries hide in plain sight in remote Queensland towns. This splendid community facility offers everything for a proper family day out - a regulation 25-metre pool for serious swimmers, a shallow toddler pool for little ones, and essential undercover BBQ areas that make all the difference when tropical sun gets serious. The covered seating provides blessed relief from heat, while expansive grass areas give children room to burn energy between swims. For a free community facility, maintenance standards are impressively high. BBQ equipment actually works, pools are spotless, and there's wonderful local pride evident in every corner.
