WARATAH ROAD RESERVE

Public BBQ

This quiet lakeside reserve offers families a pleasant escape with its well-positioned playground and undercover barbecue facilities. The playground caters particularly well to younger children aged 4-5 and up, set against the backdrop of a peaceful pond with walking tracks winding through the area. Parents appreciate the shaded seating areas where they can relax while supervising their children. The reserve features basic but functional amenities including a barbecue, drinking fountain, and rubbish bins. However, visitors should plan accordingly as the facility lacks toilet facilities entirely - a significant drawback that limits extended stays, particularly for families with young children or those planning birthday parties. The gas barbecue has also experienced reliability issues, so bringing backup cooking equipment might be wise. The location near the dam provides scenic views but requires careful supervision of children due to the absence of safety railings along the water's edge. Despite these limitations, the combination of playground equipment, walking tracks, and ample open space makes it a worthwhile destination for shorter family outings, provided toilet needs can be managed elsewhere.
