WALTER DAY PARK

Public BBQ

A lovely rest stop at Lockhart with beautifully maintained gardens, metal sculptures dotted through them, and a fenced, shaded play area to let children run about. There is a shaded picnic area with a very clean barbecue, good modern toilets, and plenty of shade for walking a dog, with water available. It sits close to the town centre, so a coffee and something from the main street cafe is an easy addition, and the refurbished town pool alongside has a diving board, a toddler pool, a kiosk and shaded seating. A fine place to break a long drive.
