VINCE GAGEN PARK

Public BBQ

Vince Gagen Park in Kulpi presents itself as one of those pleasantly understated Queensland gems that locals seem determined to keep to themselves. The park features two separate BBQ areas, each equipped with electric barbecues that actually work,a small miracle in the world of public facilities. What struck me most was the pristine condition of the amenities block; the toilets were genuinely clean and well-maintained, suggesting either exceptional council maintenance or simply blessed isolation from the usual suspects who treat public facilities as personal graffiti galleries. The quiet atmosphere was almost suspicious, where were the screaming children and aggressive magpies that typically populate Australian parks? Perhaps Kulpi's remote location acts as a natural filter, leaving only the most dedicated barbecue enthusiasts to discover this peaceful spot. It's the sort of place where you might actually hear your own thoughts while cooking lunch.
