VARSITY FORESHORE

Public BBQ

One of the best non-beach walks on the Gold Coast: a well-graded loop of a few kilometres around the lake at Varsity Lakes, with beautiful scenery, plenty of birdlife and a bridge children like to ride their bikes over. Sunset here is always a treat. There is a playground that never seems to be empty, one toilet block that is reasonably clean, and no shortage of spots to spread out a picnic rug. Dogs and their owners are everywhere and it is all the better for it. An underrated local gem, and peaceful despite how many people use it.
