TURPENTINE RD RESERVE

Public BBQ

Turpentine Rd Reserve presents itself as a no-frills family destination where practicality trumps polish. The park centres around a modest playground that caters primarily to older children, though younger ones might find the offerings somewhat sparse. A basketball court anchors one corner, showing its age but still functional for a decent game. The barbecue facilities consist of a couple of electric units positioned under welcome shade, accompanied by picnic tables that provide respite from the Queensland sun. While the grass could certainly benefit from more attention, and the occasional litter mars the landscape, families still gravitate here for weekend gatherings. A waterway meanders through the grounds, though it bears the unfortunate hallmarks of urban runoff and debris. Despite maintenance quirks that would make any ratepayer wince, the reserve delivers the essential elements: space for children to burn energy, facilities for a family barbie, and enough room to stretch one's legs on a weekend stroll.
