TUNG WAN BARBECUE AREA

Public BBQ

Tung Wan Barbecue Area sits on the eastern beachfront of Peng Chau Island, about 600 metres from the ferry pier. The public barbecue facilities line the northern side of the beach, featuring ornamental plants that add character to the area. A lengthy promenade runs along the water, offering sea views and direct beach access. The beach itself works better for sunbathing and kite flying than swimming. Visitors can grab coal, food, and barbecue supplies from the supermarket near the ferry pier before making the short walk across the island. The site includes toilets and accessible water, making it practical for extended stays. Its location away from residential areas means groups can celebrate birthdays and events without disturbing locals. The setting provides a quiet escape from Hong Kong's urban density, with the walk along the beach particularly relaxing. The five-minute proximity to both the ferry and Peng Chau market makes logistics simple.
