Thrush Street Park presents a tale of two experiences - a well-designed family facility overshadowed by persistent safety concerns. The park features an impressively large playground that surpasses most local offerings, complete with slides, flying fox, and water activities spread across generous grounds. Sheltered picnic tables and BBQ areas provide decent spots for family gatherings, while concrete pathways allow parents to stroll as children play. The Brisbane City Council's investment shows in the quality equipment and thoughtful layout. However, the location's appeal is significantly undermined by ongoing antisocial behaviour and property damage that makes many families uncomfortable. The absence of toilet facilities compounds practical concerns. While the playground infrastructure itself deserves praise, the surrounding environment prevents this from being the community asset it could be.
