Public BBQ

A well-kept beachfront park on the Esplanade at Pialba, with several playgrounds covering smaller and bigger children - one recently repainted and given a new shade sail - and the beach right there. There are toilets with showers, freshwater taps with bowls left out for dogs, barbecues that work well and are generally clean, picnic areas, and large grassed areas at the back for games. Parking is a little limited at busy times but usually fine. Dogs are welcome on lead, including on the beach as far as a point set by nesting birds, though the signage is not clear about where that is. Shallow rock pools are worth a look and it is lovely at sunrise or sunset. Midges and mosquitoes can be about in the grass.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Fraser Coast council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

We do also list wood fired BBQs on this site, so check the above descriptions and photos to be prepared.

If you are convinced that the BBQ has issues, then contact Fraser Coast council and let them know it's faulty.

You should first check with Fraser Coast council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
