THE LAKE PARKLANDS

Public BBQ

The Lake Parklands offers a peaceful 2-kilometre lakeside circuit that's perfect for walking, jogging, cycling, or electric scooter rides. The flat, wide paths are wheelchair and pram accessible, with three separate trail options that can extend the walk to 5.5 kilometres. BBQs are scattered around the lake at multiple spots, along with toilets at both ends, picnic tables, outdoor gym equipment, and table tennis facilities. Three playgrounds cater to different age groups. Wildlife is a major drawcard. The lake attracts waterhens, teals, yellow-fronted lapwings, egrets, black swans, black-headed ibis, pelicans, turtles, and plenty of ducks. Sunset is particularly special when birds come in to roost and the colours reflect off the water. An on-site cafe provides coffee and refreshments. The park hosts live music on the first and third Sunday of each month. Parking is convenient and the park is pet-friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere for dog walkers and families alike.
