SWEENEY PARK

Public BBQ

Sweeney Park stands as a rare dual-purpose destination where families and dog owners coexist in surprising harmony. The spacious grounds feature traditional BBQ facilities with picnic tables positioned strategically near a decent playground, while the real drawcard lies beyond - a generously sized off-leash area where four-legged visitors can splash in the adjacent river or pond. The natural bushland setting provides varied terrain from rocky riverbanks to open grassy expanses, complemented by dedicated dog exercise equipment for the more athletically inclined pets. Undercover seating areas offer respite from Queensland's unpredictable weather, and the thoughtful provision of taps, bins, and well-maintained facilities demonstrates genuine consideration for both human and canine visitors. The toilets, while not immediately adjacent to the BBQ area, remain within reasonable walking distance.
