STRATHDALE PARK

Public BBQ

Strathdale Park emerges as Bendigo's family entertainment hub, where sprawling grass areas meet thoughtfully designed recreational facilities. The centrepiece playground captivates children for hours with its modern play equipment and popular water feature, while grandparents find ample seating to supervise the action. BBQ areas provide the perfect setup for group gatherings, complemented by clean toilet facilities and abundant parking. The park extends well beyond basics, featuring footy and cricket ovals, bush walking tracks, and even a mini electric car racing track operating on first and third Sundays. A daily coffee van serves kid-friendly refreshments and puppaccinos for four-legged visitors. The surrounding lake and walking paths offer peaceful respite, while sporting facilities cater to soccer and tennis enthusiasts. Visitors should note the seasonal presence of European wasps during warmer months - they can be particularly aggressive around food areas. The park also houses the Sandakan WWII memorial, adding historical significance to this well-maintained community space.
