STONES BROOK CAMPGROUND

Public BBQ

A shady, quiet campground on the Collie River at Worsley, and rare in this part of the state for having fresh flowing water right through summer. Sites are large and flat, most with their own picnic table, though a few pairs sit close together and some tables are near the site boundary. Honeymoon Pool is a very short stroll away with steps down to the river for a swim or a kayak. There are flushing toilets, a sink and a skip bin, but no power, no showers, no drinking water and patchy phone signal at best. The gas stove and barbecues have been out of action, with working ones up at Honeymoon Pool. A harmless carpet python lives in the roof of the toilet block. Currawongs raid any food or bin left open, and they make for an early start.
