SOUTH HEAD PARKLANDS

Public BBQ

This expansive coastal park offers stunning ocean views overlooking the mouth of the Burnett River. The park features two barbecue areas with covered seating, accompanied by picnic tables and water taps for cleaning. Three separate playgrounds cater to different age groups, alongside a skate park and dedicated dog park. Walking paths lead to the lighthouse and beach, with a small sheltered bay suitable for swimming nearby. Clean public toilets and amenities are available throughout. The large open spaces provide plenty of room for ball games and other activities. The park stays surprisingly quiet even during peak holiday periods. Watch out for bindies in the grass, so enclosed footwear is recommended. The only minor drawback is that benches overlooking the water sit in full sun without shade.
