SMITH RESERVE

Public BBQ

Smith Reserve emerges as a pocket of green tranquility amid Fitzroy's urban intensity, offering families a well-equipped barbecue area alongside timber seating. The reserve's fenced children's playground creates a secure environment while the broader grounds welcome four-legged companions on leads. Positioned conveniently beside Fitzroy Pool, this local favourite delivers practical amenities including strategically placed rubbish bins and maintained facilities. The barbecue facilities provide an ideal setting for casual outdoor dining, though visitors should note the lack of overhead shelter. While traffic from the adjacent busy thoroughfare provides a constant soundtrack, the reserve's thoughtful layout and community atmosphere make it a cherished neighbourhood gathering spot. Dog owners particularly appreciate the well-maintained grounds, though larger breeds might prefer the expansive Edinburgh Gardens nearby. Despite the grassy areas showing signs of heavy use, Smith Reserve continues to serve as Fitzroy's accessible slice of parkland paradise.
