SHARON GORGE NATURE PARK QUICK REST STOP

Public BBQ

Sharon Gorge Nature Park proves that sometimes the best discoveries happen when you're escaping the tyranny of small bladders and restless children. This roadside haven between Bundaberg and Gladstone sprawls across both sides of the highway - preventing parental panic of children bolting toward traffic. Undercover barbecue areas provide blessed relief from Queensland's sun, while playground equipment lets young passengers burn off that peculiar car energy. The facilities are well-maintained with toilets that don't require hazmat suits and barbecues that actually work. Abundant seating suggests designers consulted real families. It transforms necessary pit stops into something pleasant - a minor miracle in Australian road trips.
