REID PARK

Public BBQ

Reid Park in Jamberoo strikes you as one of those thoughtfully designed spaces that actually works. The playground here is clearly built with the under-fives in mind, featuring a charming castle complete with slide that becomes the centrepiece of many a toddler adventure. The three swings - including a proper baby swing that doesn't require an engineering degree to operate - sit alongside balancing logs that challenge little legs just enough without inducing parental panic. What sets this place apart is the water pump feature, which provides endless fascination for small hands and serves as a brilliant distraction when the inevitable playground disputes arise. The climbing wall offers just the right level of challenge for developing coordination skills, while parents can actually relax knowing everything's designed for safety without sacrificing fun. It's the sort of local gem that makes you wonder why more councils don't get playground design quite so right.
