RABAUL BOAT RAMP

Public BBQ

Rabaul Boat Ramp sits along Georges River near Kentucky Reserve, serving as a practical hub for water access and recreation. The boat ramp attracts fishing enthusiasts who work the jetty, while the location doubles as the starting point for a riverside walking path developed years back. Mostly shaded paths make for comfortable running or walking on warm days, though mosquitoes can be aggressive in the area. The spot stays relatively quiet even on weekends, with nearby amenities including a restaurant, car wash, and tennis courts across Rabaul Road. Aircraft pass overhead regularly, adding an urban element to the riverside setting. Paths turn muddy after rain, which limits accessibility during wet periods. The location offers decent fishing spots along the water's edge and provides a functional base for various boating activities without the crowds found at larger Georges River access points.
