Public BBQ

A big, well-maintained park at East Devonport and a genuinely useful place to wait for the ferry. The climbing frame is shaped like a ship, which does a lot for pirate adventures, and there is a small skateboarding spot, a bike safety park for children learning to ride, volleyball, and a field that locals use for games. A spotlessly clean barbecue sits under a shelter with a table and benches, and there is a good number of decent-sized bins. The toilets open early and are usually clean and stocked, though not always. Graffiti and litter turn up despite the bins.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Devonport council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Devonport council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
