PINE RIVER DAM

Public BBQ

A big, well-kept park beside North Pine Dam with lots of shade, heaps of tables under shelter, green lawn for a blanket and spotless working barbecues. The toilets are clean and flushing, the playground has a shade cloth and soft wood chip underfoot, and there is ample parking and a viewing deck to take in the scenery. Walking tracks run around the water, and locals say the odds of spotting a koala are good. The views across the dam to the mountain ranges beyond are the main event, and it is a fine spot for sunset photography or a quiet morning. Dogs and other pets are not permitted. Bring insect repellent - you will need it.
