PARKER RESERVE

Public BBQ

Parker Reserve emerges as a tranquil oasis where families discover the perfect blend of recreation and relaxation. The expansive grounds feature cricket and baseball fields alongside a well-equipped playground, while the highlight remains a strategically placed chair overlooking Merri Creek - an ideal spot for contemplating the peaceful scenery. The barbecue and picnic areas cater to weekend gatherings, though visitors should plan for limited shade during sunny days. Dog owners particularly appreciate the off-leash area, though the park occasionally suffers from maintenance issues including overgrown grass and sparse facilities. The reserve's crown jewel is its connection to the Merri Creek Trail, offering cyclists, joggers, and walkers direct access to extended recreational opportunities. Despite some infrastructure limitations like few bins and a single water fountain for such a large space, the location's proximity to inner Coburg and its welcoming sporting community, particularly the North Coburg Rebels Baseball Team, make it a worthwhile destination for active families seeking weekend adventure.
