PACIFIC CITY PARK

Public BBQ

Pacific City Park centres around its man-made lake and thoughtfully designed playground beneath shade sails. The modern climbing equipment and that remarkable adult-child swing create genuine entertainment, while bark chip flooring shows careful maintenance. Families gravitate toward the barbecue areas beside the water, watching ducks paddle as children exhaust themselves on excellent play structures. The lake's bridge and surrounding walking track accommodate everything from pushchairs to scooters, creating a pleasant circuit. Shaded eating areas provide coastal sun relief, and the atmosphere consistently draws returning families. However, the complete absence of toilets presents a significant oversight for such a family-focused facility. Street parking only, and occasional rubbish around the water's edge, suggest maintenance could be more consistent. Despite these practical shortcomings, the combination of active play equipment and tranquil lakeside setting delivers an appealing family destination.
