NORTH ARM PARK

Public BBQ

North Arm Park emerges as one of those delightful discoveries that makes you wonder why more people don't know about it. Tucked away beneath magnificent fig trees that provide generous shade, this well-designed space feels refreshingly unhurried compared to busier Brisbane parks. The playground proves surprisingly engaging - not just the usual swings and slides, but a proper flying fox that had me queuing behind the kids, and basketball courts where adults can join the action without feeling ridiculous. The mini zip line provides particular entertainment, though I suspect I enjoyed it more than my dignity suggests I should have. What sets this place apart is its thoughtful design. Covered picnic tables offer respite from Queensland's enthusiastic sun, while the network of pathways makes navigation effortless. The toilets are clean and conveniently located - always worth noting when travelling with families. The parking situation is mercifully straightforward, and the overall atmosphere remains peacefully unhurried. It's the sort of spot where you arrive planning a quick stop and find yourself lingering longer than intended, watching the interplay of light through those remarkable fig trees.
