Public BBQ

A rustic, out-of-the-way campground on the Myall Lakes, split between lake sites with a view and forest sites tucked among the trees - the lake ones are nicer but busier, and the water is only a short walk from the forest. The ground is flat and the setting is genuinely peaceful, with kookaburras and bush turkeys as the welcoming party, and the lake is excellent for paddling a board or a kayak. Facilities are basic: drop toilets, no showers, no drinking water, so bring your own. The unsealed road in is good enough for a two-wheel drive. Book midweek if you can, since weekends fill. Two warnings: the mosquitoes are genuinely bad, so bring repellent and a net, and ticks are about. At around $25 a night many find it steep for what is provided.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Mid-Coast council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

If you are convinced that the BBQ has issues, then contact Mid-Coast council and let them know it's faulty.

You should first check with Mid-Coast council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
