MUNGO BRUSH

Public BBQ

Mungo Brush operates as an unpowered campground in Myall Lakes National Park, requiring bookings through NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. The site sits next to the lake with Mungo Beach a short walk away. The north campground offers better lake access with shallow, clear water that works well for families with young children. Facilities include non-flushable toilets cleaned daily and designated barbecue areas. There's no drinking or cooking water on site, so visitors need to bring their own supply. The beach provides safe swimming conditions, and the lake attracts people for fishing and swimming. A large lawn area gives space for beach games and activities. Wildlife encounters are common. Dingos, iguanas, and geckos appear around campsites regularly. The dingos will approach tents and cooking areas, so leaving food out creates problems. Insect repellent becomes necessary during summer months. Sunset and sunrise views over the lake draw attention from most campers. The location works for both quick day trips and longer camping stays, with enough activities to keep groups busy. The unpowered, basic setup suits people comfortable with minimal amenities in exchange for direct lake and beach access.
