MOUNT INKERMAN LOOKOUT

Public BBQ

Perched on Mount Inkerman Road, this elevated barbecue spot offers something most BBQ locations can't: the peculiar satisfaction of grilling sausages while gazing across the Queensland landscape from a proper vantage point. The lookout setting transforms an ordinary barbie into something rather special – there's something deeply Australian about cooking outdoors with sweeping views stretching toward the horizon. The picnic tables are sensibly positioned to take advantage of the elevation, and parking proves mercifully straightforward, which anyone who's circled a popular barbecue spot will appreciate. It's the sort of place where the view does half the work of making your snags taste better, and where you'll find yourself lingering longer than planned, not because the facilities are elaborate, but because the setting reminds you why outdoor cooking became such an Australian institution in the first place.
