A century-old jetty reaching out into Lake Alexandrina at Milang, still intact and still walked, with a historic hand crane on display beside it that has stood for more than 150 years - a tangible reminder of the town's maritime past. Milang once supported a thriving fishing industry, until the barrages went in to keep seawater out of the lake; the mix of sea and freshwater species went with it and the catch now is mostly carp. The views over the water are the draw, best at sunrise or sunset, with birdsong and the lapping of water against the pylons. There is a grassed area near the jetty that people use for picnics and a play, along with toilets and ample parking. A train museum and the historic houses on Coxe Street are worth a look while you are here.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Alexandrina council.

You should first check with Alexandrina council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
