MERRIWA PLAYGROUND AND SKATE PARK

Public BBQ

An exceptionally well-set-up rest stop on the Golden Highway at Merriwa, in view of the painted silo and doubling as the town's Driver Reviver point. The playground is fenced and shaded with shade sails, and two barbecues sit directly overlooking it under a well-shaded area with five large tables and benches - so you can cook while keeping an eye on the children. There are four clean toilets with basins and soap, a baby change room and a water refill station, with more amenities on the other side of town. The skate park is clean, well organised and in good condition, ideal for stretching legs after a long drive. The murals are worth a look, and the pies nearby have a following. It can get very hot, but there is shade, including for the car.
