MELROS RESERVE

Public BBQ

This coastal reserve delivers an unexpectedly charming combination of beach access and wildlife encounters. The highlight proves to be the kangaroo viewing opportunities, particularly around 3pm when numerous kangaroos gather in the park area, creating what visitors describe as a "kangaroo viewing heaven." The reserve features essential barbecue facilities and a playground, making it family-friendly. A paved coastal walking track offers beautiful ocean views, with plenty of benches strategically placed for admiring the scenery. The path connects to Tim's Thicket, allowing for loop walks through bushland. Beach access provides decent waves for swimming, plus fishing opportunities. Practical amenities include toilets with shower facilities, though accessibility options are limited. The small car park can fill quickly, suggesting this spot's popularity among locals. The dog-friendly beach adds appeal for pet owners seeking coastal exercise options.
