MCINHERNEY PARK

Public BBQ

McInerney Park offers a peaceful lakeside retreat with practical amenities that appeal to families and water enthusiasts alike. The park centres around a single large undercover shelter housing two barbecues and ample seating, though this single shade structure means weekend crowds can pack in tight. A small wharf extends into the water where adventurous kids leap off, while a gentle sandy beach provides safer splashing for little ones. The location sits directly on the water near Banks Cafe, Camp Jordan, and Chow Haus, with hydrofoiling experiences available nearby. Toilets include shower facilities, and the council maintains bins regularly. The compact car park fills quickly on sunny days, so early arrival is wise for those planning extended lunches. Strong winds occasionally challenge barbecue efforts, and wheelchair access to the picnic area proves difficult. While there's no playground equipment, the expansive grass area and waterfront access create a versatile space for fishing, swimming, tubing, or simple relaxation with family and friends.
