MAWSON LAKES LINEAR PARK

Public BBQ

A long, well-laid-out linear park following the waterways at Mawson Lakes, and one of the best easy walks in the northern suburbs - smooth, even paths, a loop around the lake of a little over two kilometres, and more being built over time. It doubles as an excellent bike route, with playgrounds and barbecues along the way. There is an outdoor gym at Paradise Walk with a Roman pole, steps and a crunch bench, plus drinking water, toilets and plenty of parking. A dog park makes it a favourite with dog walkers. Birdlife is abundant and the ducks keep children occupied. Cafes, restaurants and a shopping centre sit close by. There is not much shade, which suits winter better than summer, and flies are worth planning for. Some sections have been fenced off from the water.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Salisbury council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Salisbury council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
