MANNING POINT RESERVE

Public BBQ

Manning Point Reserve occupies a unique dual-aspect position where the Manning River meets the coast, offering visitors both sheltered river swimming and beach access within steps of each other. The reserve functions as a practical riverside stopping point, with established BBQ facilities, toilets, and picnic tables positioned under generous shade trees. A children's playground provides entertainment for families, while the adjacent boat ramp serves as a launch point for fishing expeditions and river exploration. The swimming baths on the river side offer calmer waters compared to the ocean beach, making it particularly suitable for families with young children. Though some amenities show their age, the location's natural advantages, protected river pools, nearby beach access, and extensive shade, create a quietly appealing destination for picnics, fishing, or simply breaking a coastal journey with coffee and a peaceful riverside pause.
