MANN PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked away in the middle of Brisbane, Mann Park offers an unexpectedly tranquil escape that genuinely surprised me. Despite its urban setting, the mature trees provide excellent shade, making afternoon visits quite comfortable even in Queensland's heat. The grass was well-maintained and refreshingly rubbish-free,always appreciated. The park sits conveniently beside the Northern Brisbane Bikeway, making it an ideal pitstop during a cycling adventure. I particularly enjoyed the small but perfectly adequate playground, which kept the kids entertained while we indulged in fish and chips from a nearby shop. The picnic shelter and barbecue facilities are thoughtfully positioned, and the park offers delightful diversions: head right for a peaceful lookout beside Enoggera Creek, or left to watch trains rumble along the Ferny Grove line. What struck me most was the park's quietude, you'd hardly believe you're in the heart of the city. The location next to the mangroves adds a lovely natural element, and the views toward the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital provide an interesting urban backdrop. While there are no toilet facilities, the comfortable seating areas and accessible back-street approach make this a worthwhile discovery for families seeking a genuine Brisbane gem.
