LOVEGROVE PARK

Public BBQ

Lovegrove Park in Googong proves that sometimes the best family destinations are the ones that don't try too hard. This fully-fenced playground strikes that sweet spot between functional and delightful, with modern equipment spanning babies to older children. The pirate rigging and oversized slide are clear winners, while the smart seesaw and merry-go-round add character beyond the usual playground fare. The park's twin barbecue setup sits beneath generous shade sails, creating proper spots for family gatherings without the usual scramble for shelter. What's particularly clever is the location - positioned directly across from the IGA shopping centre, where surprisingly decent coffee awaits and the toilets solve the park's one glaring omission. The soft-fall surfaces and decent-sized entry gates show thoughtful planning, though one can't help noticing the adjacent open space that begs for expansion. It's the sort of place that delivers exactly what families need without unnecessary flourishes.
