Public BBQ

A relaxing park along the lake's edge at the end of the main street, and a welcome place to stretch the legs on a long drive. Picnic tables and chairs are set up for families, the playground sits in open view so kids are easy to keep an eye on, and a coffee van often turns up to handle refreshments. The outlook across the water is consistently good and there is plenty of birdlife about. The grounds are large and dog-friendly, though it is worth keeping yours close given how much open ground there is to wander off into. The resident geese can be territorial. A memorial in the park gives the spot particular significance around Anzac Day.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Lachlan council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Lachlan council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
