LAURIE KNIGHT RESERVE

Public BBQ

Looking at Laurie Knight Reserve, I see a well-maintained community park that serves multiple purposes. The playground has been recently updated and offers a good mix of equipment for children, while parents can appreciate the undercover seating areas and BBQ facilities that make family gatherings comfortable. The tennis, netball, and basketball courts are clearly the heart of this reserve, with active clubs making good use of the facilities - though some of the sporting infrastructure shows its age and could benefit from upgrades. The park provides ample parking, which is always appreciated on busy weekends. One notable drawback is the absence of public toilets, which can be inconvenient for families planning longer visits. The flat, open spaces make it an ideal spot for teaching children to ride bikes or skate. While some areas appear to need attention, the barbecue area and playground maintain good standards. It's the sort of practical neighbourhood park that serves its community well, particularly for sporting activities, though visitors should plan accordingly for the lack of amenities.
