LAMBERT'S CLEARING

Public BBQ

Tucked away in St Ives, Lambert's Clearing offers one of those pleasantly unassuming barbecue spots that seem to have been placed there by someone with a proper understanding of what families actually need. The clearing itself sits comfortably among the North Shore's characteristic bushland, where the eucalyptus trees provide just enough shade without making you feel like you're dining in a cave. The barbecue facilities are refreshingly straightforward - no bells, whistles, or confusing instructions that require an engineering degree to decipher. Nearby picnic tables suggest someone actually considered where people might want to sit after successfully coercing sausages into submission. The setting captures that distinctly Australian quality of being both civilised and unmistakably bush-adjacent, where you can enjoy your lunch while listening to the occasional kookaburra offering unsolicited commentary on your cooking technique.
