LAKE WILLIAMS REST STOP

Public BBQ

Lake Williams Rest Stop sits right on the Monaro Highway in Nimmitabel, across from the BP service station. The rest area offers shaded picnic tables, public toilets, and views over the small lake. A walking track loops around the water, passing playground and gym equipment for those needing to stretch after a long drive. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, and anglers are often seen casting lines from the shore. Birdlife is plentiful around the lagoon. Toilet facilities are modern and plumbed, though cleanliness can be hit or miss depending on timing. The layout provides plenty of space for manoeuvring caravans and trailers. No camping is permitted. It's a straightforward highway rest stop that does what it needs to do. Worth noting that during busy periods, the toilet queue situation can be frustrating with some facilities going unused.
