LAKE POORRARECUP

Public BBQ

Lake Poorrarecup is a salt water lake near Frankland River that feels like a well-kept secret. The lake features brilliant white sand and crystal-clear water perfect for swimming, and it's calm enough for kids to play safely. Camping costs $10 per vehicle per night, with spacious sites spread around the lake. The facilities include clean flushing toilets, but there are no showers, drinking water, or barbecues, so campers need to bring their own supplies and fresh water for rinsing off after swimming in the salt water. The location stays quiet even in peak season, with plenty of room for privacy. It's popular for stargazing thanks to minimal light pollution. Jetskis are allowed on the lake. Dogs aren't permitted, but the shallow, calm conditions make it safe for families. Spring brings wildflowers around the campsites. The isolation means being prepared is essential, but the peaceful atmosphere and stunning natural setting make it worthwhile for outdoor adventurers looking to escape crowds.
