KING GEORGE VI RESERVE

Public BBQ

This expansive reserve opposite the local secondary college offers something for every visitor. Two quality cricket and football ovals dominate the landscape, providing ample space for dogs to roam off-leash while children explore the well-equipped playground with basketball hoop. Tennis courts feature a handy public rebound wall, complemented by three cricket practice nets and a golf cage for sports enthusiasts. The barbecue facilities anchor several picnic tables, though visitors should come prepared with their own supplies. Public toilets and drinking taps add convenience, while shaded areas provide respite on scorching days - though shade can be limited during peak sun hours. A concrete perimeter path suits cyclists, skateboarders, and afternoon walkers, creating a circuit around the grounds. Parking proves somewhat limited given the reserve's popularity with families and dog owners. The combination of sporting facilities, playground equipment, and open space makes this a reliable destination for active families seeking a well-maintained community recreation area.
