KILORA PARK

Public BBQ

Tucked into Melbourne's expanding southeastern fringe, Kilora Park occupies a curious position in the grand scheme of suburban development - part finished product, part work-in-progress. The playground, while modest in scope, proves perfectly adequate for its intended audience, complemented by a serviceable barbecue setup. The basketball court draws a steady stream of local youth, creating the sort of organic community gathering that planners dream about but rarely achieve. The oval stretches invitingly across the space, though like much of this developing estate, it carries the air of potential rather than fulfillment.
