KENDALLS BEACH RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked away on Bonaira Street, this little gem proves that the best barbecue spots are often the ones you stumble upon rather than seek out. The reserve sits right on a sheltered beach where gentle waves lap the shore - perfect for families who want to combine a proper barbie with some seaside relaxation. What strikes you immediately is how well-planned everything is. The playground caters to all ages, which means the adults can tend to the barbecue while the kids are genuinely entertained rather than whinging about being bored. The walking track that meanders into town is a nice touch - ideal for working up an appetite or burning off that extra snag. The caravan park's beachfront cabins look rather inviting, though I suspect they book up quickly during school holidays. There's something wonderfully Australian about being able to roll out of bed and straight onto the sand with your morning coffee. The facilities are well-maintained, and the whole setup has that relaxed coastal vibe that makes you want to linger longer than planned. Just remember to bring your own supplies - this isn't the sort of place that comes with a kiosk.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
