KANGAROO PAW PARK

Public BBQ

A quiet, recently revamped park tucked into bushland in the Mandurah suburbs, and genuinely hidden away — you need to know the way in through the surrounding scrub. The new playground is nature-based rather than equipment-heavy, which makes it a good setting for imaginative play, and there is a half court alongside for older kids. Cooking facilities and picnic space make it a pleasant spot for a quiet family feed, and the walking paths through the bush are well kept. Wildlife is part of the appeal, with bandicoots, geckos and plenty of birdlife about, though bandicoot numbers have thinned out over the years. Dogs are generally welcome and it is usually empty enough to suit. No public toilets on site.
