JOSEPH LEE PARK

Public BBQ

Joseph Lee Park honours one of Zillmere's earliest settlers who arrived in the 1860s and built his residence along what became Zillmere Road. This full-block park showcases both historical significance and practical family amenities across its expansive grass area. The park features both gas and electric barbecue options, complemented by covered seating areas and a children's playground that keeps younger visitors thoroughly entertained. Street parking provides the only vehicle access, though the generous open space more than compensates for this minor inconvenience. A water bubbler ensures families stay hydrated during longer visits, while the mix of covered and open picnic areas accommodates various weather conditions. The park's clean, well-maintained appearance reflects the community's pride in preserving this memorial space that serves both as a recreational facility and a tribute to the area's pioneering heritage.
