JOHN KEELEY RESERVE

Public BBQ

John Keeley Reserve proves that sometimes the best discoveries are hiding in plain sight. The centrepiece here is undoubtedly the flying fox - a proper crowd-pleaser that had kids queuing up with infectious enthusiasm during my visit. The playground equipment strikes that sweet spot between modern safety standards and genuine fun, with swings and climbing structures that actually challenge youngsters rather than merely contain them. What impressed me most was the thoughtful addition of exercise equipment scattered throughout the grounds - clearly someone understood that parents need entertainment too. The constant presence of families creates a naturally welcoming atmosphere where children roam freely and safely. Dog owners will appreciate the open spaces and relaxed vibe, making this an ideal spot for the whole family, four-legged members included. It's one of those unpretentious local gems that delivers exactly what it promises.
